Mission

UC Berkeley's Black Sociological Alliance’s primary focus is to provide a network system for students of all majors and backgrounds interested in exploring avenues for the economic and social uplift of the black community. We are dedicated to service and community outreach, striving to generate supportive alliances among black students on campus.

Vision

Here at Black Sociological Alliance, we’re committed to civic advocacy and investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. We’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. This year our theme is “What is Blackness” where we will focus on efforts throughout of communities in regards to critical dialogues and trending topics in both the education and sociology related arenas

Sociology is so applicable in our current polarized time and it allows us to reconstruct our realities and further understand them. Between health crisis, economic crises, environmental, and racial crisis we face extreme crisis and sociology allows us to break these down and see how much they affect one another.
